The angled fork for left-handers allows the user greater autonomy during meals, as it is easier to handle than ordinary cutlery.

There are different pathologies and physical and/or mental limitations that make it difficult to eat autonomously. For this, the adapted cutlery was created. Their advantages include: assisting the feeding process, facilitating food intake, promoting the user's autonomy and facilitating the caregiver's eating tasks.

The use of adapted cutlery is recommended by specialists for individuals with pathologies related to mobility and balance, such as:

  • Cerebral palsy: disorders that can compromise the brain, affecting nervous system functions such as limb movement. It also affects learning, hearing, vision and thoughts.
  • Spinal cord injuries: these relate to damage to the spinal cord that causes the loss of some functions of the human body, such as mobility or sensitivity.
  • Severe spasticity: refers to tense, stiff muscles that limit mobility. It is also known as unusual tension or increased muscle tone.
  • Ataxia: causes a lack of coordination or balance in the extremities.
  • Huntington's disease: this is characterised by involuntary, repetitive and irregular movements involving the face, neck, mouth, trunk and extremities.
  • Parkinson's disease: a neurodegenerative disorder that causes tremors, stiffness or slowness in movement and lack of balance.
  • Tremors: involuntary, rhythmic movements of certain parts of the body, such as the hands or head.
