Anti-bedsore cushions prevent the appearance of pressure ulcers, which arise due to the body remaining in the same position for long periods of time. Pressure ulcers mainly appear in areas of bone prominence and body support points, such as heels, buttocks, shoulders, knees, elbows and pelvis. Excessive pressure on a point of the body limits the blood supply to that area and consequently oxygen, causing redness, destruction of the dermis/epidermis and consequently superficial and/or deep wounds.

In order to prevent bedsores, carers should use different solutions: Change the position of the body regularly; Use cushions or devices that minimise pressure at each point of support; Use Corpitol Spray bedsore prevention oil on reddened or dark skin without open wounds. Corpitol Spray is also available on our website. We recommend using it 4 times a day until the skin has recovered. After that, we recommend using it twice a day to prevent further recurrence.

Precautions:

- Avoid contact between the cushion and solvents, corrosive products, paint strippers and sharp objects.

- Regularly check the cushion for normal wear and tear, such as changes in appearance, possible cracks and/or holes.

- Avoid contact with liquids.

- Avoid exposure to sunlight.

- Avoid contact with moisture.

- Regularly check the condition of the cushion, as ageing and wear compromise its properties and, consequently, its anti-bedsore function.
